Always one of the red carpet’s biggest risk-takers, you never know what to expect from a Tracee Ellis Ross appearance. What you can be sure of is that the Golden Globe Award-winning actress will arrive with a look that takes classic Hollywood glamour and gives it a modern edge.

At 48, Tracee is one of the most respected female stars on television, having spent the last seven years starring on the hit comedy Black-ish as well as eight years on classic turn-of-millennium sitcom Girlfriends. The daughter of music icon Diana Ross, the L.A. born star had style in her blood when she got her start as a teen model before graduating from Brown University and turning to acting. Since then, Tracee has racked up four Emmy Award nominations, co-created Black-ish spinoff Mixed-ish, and become a full-time mogul with her own curly hair care line, Pattern Beauty.

With the help of stylist Karla Welch (who has also worked with an A-list roster that includes Lorde, Olivia Wilde, Sarah Paulson, Hailee Steinfeld and Camila Cabello), Tracee regularly makes bold statements through her looks. Never one to go the nonchalant route, her ears, neck or hands are always decked out in show-stopping pieces that one can’t ignore. The star always finds new ways to incorporate diamonds into her ensembles, ensuring they never get overshadowed by the rest of her looks.

Read on for Tracee Ellis Ross’ most jaw-dropping diamond looks so far.

At the 2020 NAACP Image Awards, Tracee made sure it was the ice on her ears doing all the talking. Despite wearing a stunning purple iridescent gown from Christopher John Rogers’s Fall 2020 runway show, as well as matching purple eyeshadow, it was her diamond fan earrings that had everyone taking notice. The statement pieces by Parisian jeweler Djula are made up of alternating rows of princess cut and round diamonds, proving that even one accessory can be enough to completely capture the spotlight.

Tracee is a fashion plate who takes her jewelry very seriously, often making it the focal point of her look. One example is at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, where the star won her first trophy for Black-ish. But the talk of the night wasn’t the shiny globe in her hands; instead, all anyone could focus on were the ten statement diamond rings that adorned each of her fingers. Though Tracee hit the red carpet in a beaded, sheer Zuhair Murad dress, one lift of her hand made it clear that the real stars of the show were these accessories, covered with white pavé diamonds set in platinum and white gold. The pieces, all owned by Tracee herself, came from multiple designers including Noudar, L’Dezen, Hueb, Yeprem and Kavant & Sharart.

As host of the night’s festivities, Tracee got to rock not one, but 12 different outfits throughout the 2018 American Music Awards. Choosing to spotlight a different black designer with each look, the very first ultimately stole the show.  Tracee complemented her blush-tone Pyer Moss by Kerby Jean-Raymond suit with an absolutely blinging collar and earring combo. While the ‘too much’ approach might scare off many-a-celeb, Tracee’s mentality that one can never have too many diamonds put her right at home with the event’s rock stars. The epicness of her Jacob & Co.diamond collar necklace covered with princess cut diamonds and Valentino-esque white gold studs was only heightened by her Djula and Mattia Cielo mismatched shoulder duster diamond earrings hanging at either side of her face.

Even a viewing party is reason enough for Tracee to get iced out. The actress stepped out at the 2020 Mercedes-Benz Annual Academy Viewing Party in a cropped black suit with matching trousers and pulled back hair, a look that could have easily blended into the backdrop if it weren’t for one very important piece: her shining nose chain by Parisian designer Valerie Messika that you couldn’t miss if you tried. Featuring pear and marquise cut diamonds, the wild moon earring/nose ring was complemented by Diamond Saguaro earrings with marquise diamonds fanning down to the shoulder. Here, Tracee made it clear: even if she wasn’t actually at the Oscars, her headline-making diamond jewelry would still win big.
