Throughout her nearly three-decade career as a musician, actress, beauty mogul, and pop culture icon, Jennifer Lopez has proven herself to be a natural diamond aficionado.
Wearing stunning diamond jewels, Lopez has been out on the town promoting her triumphant return to romantic comedies with a starring role in the new Netflix movie, Office Romance, alongside Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. In a full-circle jewelry moment, the superstar hit the red carpet for the film’s premiere in diamond Harry Winston Cluster designs – just as she did while filming her universally beloved 2002 rom-com, Maid in Manhattan.
A true romantic on and off the big screen, Lopez has amassed quite the collection of diamond engagement rings in real life. First, Ojani Noa presented Lopez with a pear-shaped diamond on a gold band before they married in 1997. Then, her backup dancer, Cris Judd, popped the question in 2001 with an emerald-cut diamond before Ben Affleck came into the picture for the first time, proposing with a 6.1-carat radiant-cut fancy intense pink diamond ring from Harry Winston.
Meet the Experts

Rebecca Selva is the Chief Creative Officer of Fred Leighton, a legendary jeweler renowned for its exceptional collection of vintage and antique pieces. She has spent the last 30 years curating period jewelry across all eras, dressing Hollywood’s brightest stars in Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Deco, and mid-century jewelry.

For nearly eight decades, three generations of the Rahaminov family have passionately devoted themselves to the art of crafting fine diamond jewelry. Rahaminov Diamonds is guided by the creative vision of second-generation leader, Tamara Rahaminov Goldfiner, and her daughter, Nicol Goldfiner Barlev, representing the third generation of Rahaminov Diamonds.
Marc Anthony got down on one knee in 2004 with an 8.5-carat emerald-cut Harry Winston blue diamond before the couple split in 2012. Even as recently as 2021, Lopez revealed that her blue diamond is still her most treasured piece of jewelry. Her next suitor came through with her largest diamond yet. Baseball player Alex Rodriguez proposed in 2019 with a 15-carat emerald-cut diamond. After four years together and a million-dollar engagement ring, A-Rod and J.Lo called off their engagement in April of 2021. Then, 20 years after their first engagement in 2002, Ben Affleck proposed again — this time with an 8.5-carat cushion-cut fancy vivid green diamond engagement ring. After tying the knot in 2022, the couple went their separate ways and finalized their divorce in 2025.
Think you gotta keep her iced? You don’t. Apart from romantic gifts and engagement rings, Lopez knows how to deck herself out in diamonds all on her own. She typically sticks to her tried-and-true jewelry designers, often opting for Harry Winston, Bulgari, or Fred Leighton diamonds for red carpet occasions. The multihyphenate is known for incorporating diamonds into her work, like the iconic Harry Winston moment in her film Maid in Manhattan or her Pasquale Bruni diamonds in Marry Me.
In honor of a new J.Lo rom-com coming our way, Only Natural Diamonds is looking back on Lopez’s best natural diamond jewelry moments of all time, from her engagement rings to red carpet appearances and more.

Ben Affleck Proposed to Jennifer Lopez with a Green Diamond Engagement Ring in 2022

Twenty years after her first engagement to Ben Affleck, the couple rekindled their romance in 2021. After proposing with the beguiling pink diamond, Affleck popped the question again in 2022 with another extraordinary gem, adding to Lopez’s impressive lineup of colored diamond engagement rings. This time around, Affleck presented Lopez with an 8.5-carat cushion-cut green diamond set on a platinum band– a diamond with an even rarer color than the first, its hue symbolizing “luck,” according to Lopez, who has said green is her lucky color.
The central green diamond was sourced by Ilan Portugali of Beverly Hills Diamonds, while Tamara Rahaminov and her daughter, Nicol Goldfiner Barlev of Rahaminov Diamonds, were responsible for the design of the ring. The mother-daughter duo tells Only Natural Diamonds, “Colored diamonds are extraordinary because no two are ever truly alike. Each stone carries its own personality, tone, and intensity, which makes every piece inherently one-of-one. For an engagement ring, that individuality becomes deeply meaningful. It reflects a personal story rather than a trend.”
The Rahaminovs explain, “We are always drawn to diamonds with the strongest, most vivid color presence. Saturation and intensity make a colored diamond truly captivating.” They say, “The process is always guided by the individual couple. The right diamond ultimately reflects their personality and the emotion they want the ring to carry. We particularly love working with blues, pinks, and greens because each of those colors expresses something different while still feeling timeless.”
After tying the knot in 2022, the couple went their separate ways and finalized their divorce in 2025. Per court documents, Lopez was permitted to keep the exceptional green diamond engagement ring.
Hailed as the second-coming of iconic Hollywood couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, “Bennifer” has also gained a reputation for their meet-cute on a film set (Gigli vs. Cleopatra), their highly-publicized breakup and subsequent rekindled romance, AND their expression of love through diamond jewelry. When it comes to diamonds, to be compared to Elizabeth Taylor is the greatest compliment of all.

They’re very alluring, so the whole thing worked beautifully together.”
