Over the last decade, Michael B. Jordan has built a reputation for being one of the most exciting and stylish male figures in Hollywood. Since his breakthrough role in 2013’s Fruitvale Station, the Southern California-born actor has quickly ascended to Hollywood’s A-list, becoming one of the most in demand performers in the industry. With hits like Black Panther and the Creed films under his belt, he has appeared at nearly every significant red carpet event, evolving his style right before our eyes, and trading in trendy streetwear for suave suits and high-end men’s diamond jewelry.

Just in the last year, the 34 year old was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World and No. 15 on The New York Times’ 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century. His industry clout has reached new heights, and with the help of stylist Ade Samuel, so has his confidence in fashion.

While most actors throw on a tux and call it a day, Samuel, who also counts Cynthia Erivo, Khalid and Naomie Harris as clients, has said she prefers adding something extra to their sartorial collaborations. “Michael understands his body really well. He is always so open to trying something new, fresh, and fun,” she told GQ in 2018. As such, the star started including luxury brands like Piaget and Cartier to his red carpet uniform. But as Samuel once said about her work with Jordan, “we’re just getting started.”

Check out these Michael B. Jordan looks that highlight just how much his sense of diamond jewelry style has upped its wow factor over the years.

2023: Michael B. Jordan at the Oscars

Michael B. Jordan arrived on the red carpet in 2023 looking incredibly dapper in a Louis Vuitton tuxedo with not one, but two massive Tiffany & Co. diamond “Bird on a Rock” brooches, designed by Jean Schlumberger. Along with diamond stud earrings, a diamond tennis bracelet, and a diamond ring, the actor’s iconic bird brooches are what caught our eye. While one pavé diamond bird sits atop a pink morganite gemstone, the other is perched above a 58-carat green tourmaline stone.

2019: Michael B. Jordan at the Oscars

Jordan has never looked more distinguished than he did at the 91st Academy Awards in 2019. His midnight blue velvet Tom Ford dinner jacket would have been a classic showstopper on its own, but the real highlight came from the Piaget pieces that completed his ensemble for Hollywood’s biggest night. He looked dashing wearing an impressive Piaget Polo white gold tourbillon watch set with diamonds, as well as two Possession white gold diamond rings and two Limelight Couture Précieuse brooches. Considering his handsome appearance, it’s no surprise he was named an International Brand Ambassador for the Swiss manufacturer.

2019: Michael B. Jordan at the Golden Globes

Jordan proved even 007 could benefit from a bit of bling at the Golden Globes in 2019. He looked like he was auditioning to be the next James Bond in a custom black double-breasted tux with a white dress shirt and black bow tie designed by Riccardo Tisci for Burberry. Much like the classic spy character, the debonair star didn’t leave home without his necessary tools, skipping the gun for a striking vintage 1934 Cartier lapel clip. The incredible piece was made in platinum and 18 karat white gold and set with baguette and round diamonds. He also wore an impressive Piaget Polo white gold tourbillon watch set with diamonds, as well as a Possession white gold diamond ring. Topping off the ensemble with, you guessed it, his classic diamond stud earrings.

2018: Michael B. Jordan at the Met Gala

Jordan is a frequent attendee at the Met Gala, using the industry’s most fashion-forward red carpet to experiment with new textures and silhouettes. In 2018, he donned a pinstripe suit from Off-White, the streetwear brand by Louis Vuitton’s Virgil Abloh. “We wanted to really make a statement on the carpet,” said Samuel about their very first collaboration. “This was a great moment for an African American designer to work with one of the top African American actors.” They added a custom diamond cross pin by David Yurman to tie the look into the Heavenly Bodies theme, and the actor’s own round diamond stud earrings, which seem to be an everyday wardrobe staple for Jordan.

2018: Michael B. Jordan at the Creed II Premiere

The Creed films are Jordan’s biggest to date as a marquee star. And with an upcoming third film set to mark his directorial debut, it’s no surprise he used the press tour as an opportunity to showcase his range as a classic leading man, both on-and off-the screen. At the movie’s New York premiere, he looked like quite the gentleman in an all black Givenchy tuxedo. The monochrome choice made way for his diamonds—an impressive Piaget Polo white gold diamond watch—to truly shine. Samuel said they wanted something that was both “elevated” and “that feels very luxurious and clean” for the event.

2013: Michael B. Jordan at the Cannes Film Festival

Jordan began his stint as a true movie star with the 2013 release of the critically acclaimed Fruitvale Station, and began leveling up his style for the film’s press tour. He told Vulture that his very first time wearing a tuxedo came at the Cannes Film Festival that year, and as such, he was more concerned about pulling off the fitted evening wear than worrying about extra components to complete the look. He did include an upgraded pair of diamond studs from his first days in the spotlight, something that clearly became a fixture for the actor in the years since. It would be some time before he developed the confidence to experiment with his jewelry, but even from his Hollywood beginnings, he understood that a little ice can make a big difference.

2011: Michael B. Jordan at the Real Steel Premiere

Long before accruing a big name stylist, Jordan was more interested in sporting attainable streetwear that showed off his boyish good looks. It would be a few years before he gave off ‘leading man’ vibes on the red carpet, but he still wasn’t afraid of making a statement when it came to jewelry. At the Real Steel premiere in 2011, the then-24 year old went for a comfortable jeans and t-shirt look, keeping the focus on his sizable diamond tennis necklace. The blinging diamond chain was fully set with diamonds—a classic piece, but not as elegantly styled as he would later be. As always, he donned his classic diamond stud earrings, but noticeably smaller than his studs we have now come to love.
