10 Halloween Costume Ideas Where Diamonds Are the Star

Celebrity-inspired Halloween costume ideas that are all about the sparkle.

By |

Halloween is without a doubt one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. As a kid, I loved dressing up and wearing costumes and the same rings true today. As the ultimate girly-girl, my Halloween costume ideas always had to be glamorous and chic, complete with rhinestones, a tiara or any sparkling accessory.

Your Halloween costume this year too needs a little bit of sparkle, especially given 2020’s Halloween celebration didn’t feel quite the same as year’s past. If there’s a Halloween to go all out with the glitz, glam and immaculately executed costume it’s Halloween 2021.

When it comes to glitzy-style costumes, there are of course the obvious: Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly, Marilyn Monroe in her iconic Gentlemen Prefer Blondes costume and even Daphne Bridgerton if you’re looking to dress up as a cultural moment from this year.

There are some less obvious costumes too, like Ariana Grande in her ‘7 Rings’ music video, a literal disco ball or perhaps a glam unicorn, complete with rhinestone face makeup. Whatever outfit you decide to go with, just make sure lean into your theme, especially if you’re planning on posting your costume on Instagram.

Below, some of our favorite diamond-themed, glizy-glam Halloween costume ideas that will get you all the compliments—and Instagram likes—this year.

1. Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s Holly Golightly Costume

All you need for this costume is a little black dress, elbow length gloves, a diamond and pearl statement necklace, plus a sparkling hairpiece for your top-knot. A vintage cigarette holder wouldn’t hurt either!

2. Marilyn Monroe’s “Diamond Are A Girl’s Best Friend” Costume from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Of course we’re referencing the ensemble Monroe wore as she sang “Diamond Are A Girl’s Best Friend” in the classic film. Find your brightest, hottest pink dress, matching elbow-length gloves and a sparkling, statement choker necklace to nail this costume.

3. Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” Costume

Grab your sparkliest bodysuit or tank top and a matching skirt, pair it with some funky rhinestone or diamond hair accessories and you’re good to go! Don’t forget to style your hair in the highest ponytail possible and bonus points if you can find 7 diamond engagement rings.

4. Kim Kardashian’s Flapper Costume

To nail this costume you’ll need a fringe dress, plenty of diamond and pearl pieces of jewelry and a feather headpiece a la Kim Kardashian seen here in a flapper costume.

5. Ana de Armas’s Bond Girl Costume

We may be biased on this one thanks to our For Moments Like No Other global ambassador Ana de Armas’s latest roll as a kick-ass Bond Girl in No Time To Die, but it’s also a classic costume that will get heads turning when you show up at the Halloween party. You’ll need a sleek ball gown, some sparkling statement jewelry and perhaps a toy watergun… maybe even fill it with your spirit of choice for some extra Halloween fun.

Sure, this movie may not scream glitz and glam but you can’t deny that sparkle in Carrie’s prom queen tiara! You’ll need a pink slip dress and a tiara—pig’s blood optional, but highly encouraged.

7. Paris Hilton’s Tinkerbell Costume

If you ask us, Tinkerbell’s fairy dust is clearly made of diamonds, plus, the costume itself is just too cute. You’ll need a sparkling green dress, fairy wings and a jewelry pouch filled with glitter and confetti.

8. Phoebe Dynevor as Daphne Bridgerton in Bridgerton Costume

To transform into Daphne Bridgerton you’ll need an empire-waist dress with puffed sleeved and a sparkling diamond necklace. Bonus points if you can find a Duke to dance with—and burn for—all night long.

9. A Disco Ball Costume

Feel free to get creative with this one, whether you wear a silver pantsuit, a sequined dress or a literal DIY-ed disco ball, your costume will feel complete once you’ve frosted yourself to the nines with diamond earrings, necklaces, bracelets and more.

10. Jenna Dewan’s Unicorn Costume

The best way to nail this costume is to find a glittery makeup tutorial on YouTube to create a beauty look like Jenna Dewan’s. The costume itself depends on your own personal style, just don’t forget to add a rhinestone unicorn horn!
