Why should women get to have all the fun with wedding rings? With the rise of gender-neutral and inclusive fashion, men’s wedding bands are evolving—not just as a symbol of commitment, but as a statement of personal style. As a result, wedding band trends for men are having a major style moment.

If you are wondering what makes a man’s ring design different from a woman’s, some of the determining features include heft and scale, materials (platinum or perhaps blackened metals), diamond placement (pave-set diamonds, bezel settings, flush mounts), and more geometric or architectural lines.

As men’s jewelry continues to evolve, wedding bands are no longer seen as a one-size-fits-all purchase.  “The current men’s wedding band trends are allowing for greater self-expression. The days of men settling for a plain, simple band are coming to an end, and now there are plenty of options for men to express their sense of style,” said Betsy Hawley, the VP Commercial at jewelry brand Hearts On Fire.

Ahead, a look at some of the hottest men’s wedding bands in 2025.

A Brief History of Men’s Wedding Bands

Wedding bands for brides have a long and storied history dating back to Ancient Egypt, through the Roman Empire, and well into the Middle Ages. While the symbolism remains timeless, today’s brides are redefining tradition with diamond wedding bands that offer endless versatility.

But wedding bands for men took a bit longer to catch on. During World War II, many American men wore rings to remind them of their wives and families back home while they were fighting overseas. But it was really only in the 1950s that wedding bands for men became mainstream.

In 2025, we are seeing more and more men wear wedding bands as well as embracing engagement rings as traditional symbolism evolves. Today, both partners’ rings carry equal weight and meaning.

Nisarg Mehta, Diamond Director of Robbins Brothers Fine Jeweler, said, “From shifts in rituals, to joint ring shopping, and repurposing heirlooms, love stories are changing across generations. Rings have evolved from a symbol of tradition into statements of individuality, equality, and style.”

This year, men’s wedding band trends blend modern style with personal expression. From narrow bands and mixed metals to dark finishes, diamond accents, and textured designs, 2025’s trends celebrate individuality while honoring timeless tradition.

Men’s Wedding Band Trends: Full Pavé

Full pavé diamond rings are not just for the ladies anymore. More grooms are gravitating towards this more lavish aesthetic, with iconic jewelers like Tiffany & Co. leading the charge. A full pavé look exudes confidence—and sparkles from every angle. Similar to the reemergence of diamond brooches, collars and statement earrings, this is another example of men embracing jewelry that is more boldly glamorous as well as symbolic.

Men’s Wedding Band Trends: Prominent Center Stones

Not every groom opts for the “more is more” approach with pavé diamonds. Enter the men’s wedding band with a prominent diamond center stone. These rings reinvent the classic solitaire women often wear, but in this more masculine version, there is typically a flush-set or bezel-set into the band, creating a sleek, low-profile design. This look also translates beautifully to bold cigar bands or modern signet rings, where a single stone adds just the right touch of individuality.

Men’s Wedding Band Trends: Black Diamonds

Black diamonds have grown in popularity over the last few years for both men and women. Black diamonds symbolize power, strength, and a rebellious spirit, which is appealing to a lot of men. Unlike onyx or most black spinel gems, black diamonds combine the durability of diamond with a subtle metallic luster, making them a daring alternative to the norm. A black larger-sized diamond with even coloration is considered quite rare. Set in a black or dark metal band, this is a bold yet sophisticated choice for men’s wedding bands.

“The subtle flare of a classic natural black diamond is fantastic without being gaudy. It catches the light when you least expect it, almost calling a flash of attention to the wearer, as they reach for their drink,” said Michelle Luchese, co-founder of Manly Bands.

Men’s Wedding Band Trends: Narrow Widths

Historically, men’s wedding bands were thicker and designed less for aesthetics and more for functionality. But this year is seeing a rise in bands with narrower widths, particularly in the 2 to 4 millimeter space. A delicate row of diamonds adds just the right sparkle for a refined, modern look. A thinner diamond band also looks great stacked with an engagement ring for men.

Pro tip: If you fall in love with a women’s design, most jewelers can customize it into a men’s wedding band with your preferred size and proportions.

Men’s Wedding Band Trends: Geometric Designs

A compelling new wedding band trend for men? How about the geometric band: a ring that still holds the timeless shape of a band, but inserts unexpected angles and dimensions, creating a piece of art on your finger. Textured and patterned men’s wedding bands are increasingly popular, as are rings with hexagons, trapezoids, and triangles. It’s a bold, sculptural choice for the groom looking for something mre distinctive.

Mixing materials is redefining men’s wedding bands in 2025. One standout look pairs delicate diamonds with contrasting metals—think white diamonds set in warm rose gold. Another striking combination features rich brown diamonds set in brushed yellow or blackened gold, adding depth and dimension. The result is a sophisticated balance of warmth and edge that feels both timeless and fresh.
