Within the first few minutes of The Perfect Couple on Netflix, viewers are left with an unsettling feeling as the show follows a wealthy family, the Windburys, through a murder mystery in Nantucket. In The Perfect Couple, Nicole Kidman plays Greer Windbury, a best-selling author and wife of Tag Windbury, played by Liev Schreiber, who seemingly have a perfect marriage, until Kidman’s character finds out that her husband is cheating. The infidelity comes to light through her family jeweler, who arrives at the mansion to deliver wedding rings for Greer and Tag’s son on the day before his wedding. When the family jeweler asked Greer why she was not wearing the bangle her husband had just purchased for her, Greer instantly knew her husband had an affair. Soon enough, Greer finds the receipt of an $18,000 diamond and gold open-faced bangle that Tag had purchased for his mistress. 

The mistress, Merrit, is played by Meghann Fahy, and just so happens to be the maid of honor in the wedding between the Windbury’s son and her best friend Amelia. Merrit is dead by the end of the first episode, and at the beginning of the second episode, we watch Greer piece together who Tag had been cheating with, based on who was wearing the bangle.
