“The Mighty Gemstones” could easily describe a series featuring Pharrell Williams‘ jewelry collection by Jacob & Co. While that would make for popcorn-grabbing fun, a new auction launched today on the multi-hyphenate creative’s commerce platform, Joopiter, will provide just as much intrigue.

Objects of Brilliance: From the Collection of Pharrell Williams and Jacob Arabo, live today and through March 5th, is the first offering of one-of-a-kind jewelry from the personal collection of Pharrell Williams and the archives of master jeweler Jacob Arabo, aka. Jacob the Jeweler, who rose to fame in the late 1990s, with bold styles catering to music’s burgeoning hip hop community.

With a partnership dating back 30 years, the jewels represent boundary-breaking designs the duo fostered. The Objects of Brilliance sale includes Pharrell Williams’ most coveted treasures from the over 100 custom pieces he created—work that equally defines his personal style and the jeweler’s mastery in design and technique.

The milestone is cause for celebration, according to Benjamin Arabov, Jacob & Co. CEO. “This is a moment to commemorate this creative partnership that helped redefine how jewelry shows up in music and pop culture,” he tells Only Natural Diamonds. “These pieces trace that journey, from bold, era-defining statements of the early 2000s to the technically advanced high-jewelry creations of recent years, forming a timeline of influence, innovation, and shared vision that brings meaning to the auction.”

The pièce de résistance of Objects of Brilliance is the ‘Jacob & Co. Yellow Diamond & Gold Necklace’, which Arabo refers to as the most difficult piece to date he has created to date, an achievement encapsulating the height of his working partnership with Williams. The materials reflect Williams’ devotion to the cheerful hue, which also lends its name to his 501(c)(3) nonprofit, dedicated to social equity and quality education for underserved communities.

The design draws on royal precedent, taking inspiration from the famed Nizam of Hyderabad necklace. Created by Cartier in the 1930s, the necklace was gifted by Asaf Jah VII, Nizam of Hyderabad, to Queen Elizabeth II upon her 1947 engagement to Prince Philip.

Arabo channeled Edwardian high jewelry and royal settings, assembling 112.70 carats of fancy vivid diamonds into a suite of different cuts like squares, emeralds, Asschers, and hearts, each meeting exacting standards of fire and saturation.

With an opening bid of $3 million, the piece is expected to fetch between $6 million and $8 million.

Why Pharrell Williams Favors Fancy Yellow Diamonds

The royal touch influences another necklace in Objects of Brilliance and among Williams’ most prized possessions, which blends tradition with the technicolor modernity. It features over 82 carats of fancy yellow and white diamonds, 21 carats of sapphires, and 16 carats of emeralds, with stones cut in cushion, Asscher, round, princess, emerald, radiant, and heart shapes for an eclectic effect. Expected to fetch at least $7 million, Williams was often seen wearing it with a simple T-shirt, baseball cap, and matching grill.

Other golden-hued highlights include the Seven Row Cuff bracelet, featuring 57 carats of fancy yellow diamonds. One of the earliest pieces Williams acquired, the cuff exemplifies the early 2000s hip-hop maximalist aesthetic the artist cultivated. A pair of signature fancy yellow diamond stud earrings, totaling 5.72 carats and mounted in 18K yellow gold, exemplify the minimal silhouette that defined his more refined jewelry era.

A pivotal chapter in Arabo’s career was the creation of custom diamond-encrusted watch designs in the 1990s. Objects of Brilliance features a rare version of the 2002 ‘Five Time Zone’ watch. Stamped Edition 001 and made in 2005, the 18k white gold timepiece is adorned with more than 300 diamonds and displays the time in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Paris, omitting the fifth.

The Diamond Mesh Bracelet That Defined Pharrell Williams’ Style Evolution

In a statement, Arabo said, “Our relationship was more than creating jewelry and watches; it was building something that didn’t exist and bringing our visions to life together through barrier-breaking creativity. We’ve helped shape trends that defined culture, from large, three-dimensional pieces to more refined designs centered around stones. These are not just jewels, they are milestones in a 30-year cultural dialogue, shaped by shared ambition and a willingness to take risks.”

Our relationship was more than creating jewelry and watches; it was building something that didn’t exist and bringing our visions to life together through barrier-breaking creativity.

A perfect example of the latter is the Diamond Mesh Bracelet, which marks Pharrell’s evolution from playful cartoon-like pieces to refined styles that define true jewelry connoisseurship. Composed of 92 perfectly matched stones totaling more than 108 carats, the flex band cuff shows off technical mastery.

Williams once referred to it as “the bracelet that broke a lot of hearts.” Opening at $180,000, it is expected to achieve between $280,000 and $320,000.

Pharrell Williams’ Collaborations With Nigo and Virgil Abloh

Williams’ diamond tastes have evolved over the decades, though his love of streetwear style endures. Another piece in Objects of Brilliance reflects a kindred spirit with Nigo, Kenzo’s creative director and the founder of BAPE and Human Made. A frequent collaborator, Williams also serves as an advisor and investor to Human Made. To wit is a Jacob & Co. x Human Made 18K white gold necklace set with more than 90 carats of diamond and ruby pavé forming the Human Made heart logo.

Honoring his late friend and collaborator, Virgil Abloh, the iconic Office Supply paper clip jewelry, fully covered in diamonds, was created in 2020 in collaboration with Abloh and Jacob & Co. A unique offering of customizable pieces that will be awarded to the highest bidder, who may choose the stones and gold color.

Today, Williams sits at the helm of the Louis Vuitton, following the passing of his design mentor, Virgil Abloh. Williams and Arabo share a similar design influence. Noting all that Arabo taught him about jewelry in the brand video, Williams said, “Together we influenced the music industry, which affected the jewelry industry; if you look back, you can see where it all began, this guy is like the father of it.” Perhaps, but then Williams is jewelry’s prodigal son.
