In October, Emma Stone tossed on the green Donna Karan outfit that was part of Paltrow’s costumes in the 1998 film Great Expectations for an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” Then, at the Marty Supreme New York premiere on December 16, Apple Martin broke the internet in the black Calvin Klein tank dress her mother wore at the premiere of Emma in 1996.
While Martin got the diamond studs right for her tribute, what has yet to be fully acknowledged in the Paltrow style celebrations across the internet is the wellness guru’s singular way with and passion for diamond jewelry.
“One of the reasons I love jewelry so much is because it’s so expressive,” Paltrow explained in 2021, when she launched the diamond and gold G. Label jewelry line, which has since been rebranded Gwyn. She went on to add, “How you mix and match it says so much about your state of mind and what’s inspiring you in that moment.”
Over the years, Paltrow has shown through her jewelry that she’s had a lot on her mind and been inspired by a number of things. Her diamond jewels have included elegant and edgy silhouettes, vintage styles, and contemporary creations. She has worn iconic pieces from the big houses and cool designs from independent talents.
While it might sound a bit all over the map, and the range does show a comprehensive knowledge of the market, there are repeats of silhouettes over time that reveal Gwyneth Paltrow’s favorites as well as some totally unexpected pieces. Find out all about it in the roundup below that includes gold and diamond jewelry, all kinds of diamond earrings, creative jewels with diamond highlights, and high-impact diamond jewelry.

1996 MTV Video Music Awards

At the MTV Video Music Awards, Paltrow paired the Tom Ford for Gucci red velvet suit, she instantly made famous, with a single Elsa Peretti for Tiffany Diamonds-by-the-Yard necklace. Peretti’s understated 1970s style experienced such a big revival in the nineties that the designer was given the prestigious CFDA Award for Accessories in 1996, as though the collection had just been released.
2020 Goop Lab Netflix Screening

At the Goop Lab Netflix screening, Paltrow accessorized her G. Label crème bralette top and wide leg pants with a couple of popular favorites from Cartier: rose gold and diamond Juste un Clou necklace and Clash de Cartier ring, among other jewels.
2021 Instagram Post
In the Instagram post where Paltrow announced her company’s jewelry collection and wrote about her love of jewelry, she wore diamond earrings from Gwyn and some diamond pieces from her personal collection.
The British label Robinson Pelham Short Identity Necklace set with a 1.85-carat diamond bar motif was a gift from her husband, Brad Falchuk. It is one of several gold chain necklaces in her jewelry box.
The ionic column shaped diamond and gold pinky ring is a constant on the star’s hand. Although it has never been confirmed, it is believed to have been designed by the American Joel Arthur Rosenthal, who is the creative force behind the exclusive JAR collection based in Paris.
2022 “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Appearance

Walking into the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” studio in Los Angeles, Paltrow was snapped by photographers wearing the Foundrae Custom Heart Love Token on an Oversized Mixed Clip Chain she has steadily been spotted in since at least 2019. The star customized the heart with a diamond “A” and “M” for her children, Apple and Moses. On top of the chain is a “B” Foundrae diamond Initial pendant for her husband, Brad.
Gwyneth has worn the Tiffany HardWear graduated link necklace in yellow gold with pavé diamonds on any number of occasions, including while she was photographed on the streets of New York before heading to a Goop holiday party in 2024. The piece has the bold look the star loves to wear with her daytime attire.

2019 Avengers: Endgame Premiere

“Preppy with a twist” is how Gywneth Paltrow has described her style. One of her favorite ways to mix things up is with diamond ear décor. For the Avengers: Endgame Los Angeles premiere, she added edge and sparkle to her G. Label ensemble with Yvan Tufenkjian diamond and gold ear climbers.
2025 “Late Night with Seth Meyers”

Paltrow jazzed up the Marty Supreme-themed orange tracksuit she sported for her appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” in 2025 with 1-inch-long Arielle Ratner ear climbers set with over 1.7 carats of diamonds in gold.
She added to the shine with a couple of super cool antique emerald cut diamond and onyx rings from Deszo by Sara Beltrán.

2024 Premiere of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

For the premiere of her film Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Paltrow wore her own vintage diamond chandelier earrings from Neil Lane with a Lanvin dress featuring a bejeweled detail. The combination of Lanvin by Alber Elbaz and vintage jewelry was peak early 2000s style, and the success of the look was a far cry from the first time she wore the jewels.
2002 Oscars

At the Oscars, Paltrow made a rare and totally unforgettable fashion misstep when she went goth in an Alexander McQueen dress with a sheer bodice and no bra, Heidi-style braided hair, and heavy eye makeup. She was roundly criticized for everything, except her vintage diamond jewelry from Neil Lane that included the chandelier earrings.
It’s worth noting that after this Oscar fashion fail, Paltrow gave up on styling herself and hired Elizabeth Saltzman. The two have been working together since 2002.
2007 Oscars

At the Oscars, Paltrow demonstrated her jewelry awareness by wearing her hair to one side to showcase the vintage diamond earrings from Fred Leighton that she paired with a peach Zac Posen gown.
2015 amfAR Gala, Hong Kong

At an amfAR gala in Hong Kong, Paltrow made many carats of diamonds set in modern Harry Winston chandelier earrings look effortlessly glamorous.
2015 amfAR Gala, Los Angeles

At an amfAR event in Los Angeles in 2015, Paltrow played up her ability to look like a mid-20th-century Hitchcock blonde, think Grace Kelly, which is something she rarely does. She lit up her brush curls and red lip with vintage-inspired chandelier diamond earrings by Harry Winston.
Gwyneth Paltrow in Shoulder Dusters
2023 CFDA Fashion Awards

The long, lean earring style, known as shoulder dusters, are a Gwyneth Paltrow favorite, but few designers make this 1920s-era silhouette with all diamonds today. Paltrow put on a pair from De Beers, set with a line of marquise and round diamonds, ending in one pear shape for the CFDA Fashion Awards, where she accepted the Innovation Award on behalf of Goop.

2000 Oscars

In the days before stars worked with stylists for the Oscars, Paltrow picked a sparkly dress from Calvin Klein and went to Cathy Waterman’s studio in Santa Monica, California, herself to find a jewel. She chose a ruby lariat highlighted with openwork diamond and platinum caps that hold the tassels together.
At the time, Waterman explained, “I design two collections a year; not in the spring and the fall, but one around my birthday and the other around the Oscars. Gwyneth made a beeline right to this Oscar collection necklace.”
2019 Met Gala

For the Met Gala, celebrating the exhibit Camp: Notes on Fashion, Paltrow went for High Jewelry creativity in earrings by Glen Spiro. The innovative British designer combines materials such as carnelian and agate from Mesopotamia with dazzling diamonds. Paltrow has at least one piece from Glen Spiro in her personal collection.
Gwyneth Paltrow in High Impact Diamond Jewelry
2012 Oscars

Standing out on a big awards season red carpet isn’t easy, but Paltrow has managed to do so on multiple occasions. One of those times was at the Oscars, when she wore an all-white, asymmetrically draped, floor-length Tom Ford crepe column dress with a matching cape.
It was the star’s only outfit. There was no backup. Her stylist, Elizabeth Saltzman, told me at the time she couldn’t sleep the night before the Oscars because she worried, “What if anything happened to the white dress.” She finally was able to doze off when she told herself, “Women get married in white all the time without incident.”
The twosome decided to accessorize the sharp look with a bold Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie pavé cuff and a diamond slice ring. These jewels were as modern as the clothes.
2020 Golden Globes

At the Golden Globes, Paltrow grabbed attention by showing off her famously toned abs through a sheer Fendi dress that had a bralette and briefs underneath it. Cleverly, she also wore not just one, but two Bulgari Fiorever High Jewelry diamond necklaces under the sheer gown. She finished off the look with High Jewelry pendant earrings set with almost 20 carats of diamonds.
1999 Oscars

Paltrow was just 26 years old when she won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in Shakespeare in Love, which was written by the brilliant playwright Tom Stoppard. Her look for the evening had all the personality and charm of the 1990s before red carpets became so sleek. Ralph Lauren famously designed her sweet bubble gum pink gown.
For jewels, she borrowed a necklace and cluster earrings from Harry Winston. At Paltrow’s request, Winston shortened the necklace to choker length to make it more youthful.
Immediately after Paltrow won, her father, Bruce Paltrow, told her that he was buying her the Winston jewels in celebration. She seemed to be almost as thrilled about the diamonds as she was about the acting prize, telling several members of the press about the gift throughout the night. In memory of her father, she wore the jewels at her wedding to Brad Falchuk in 2018.
One lesser-known detail about the evening’s jewelry is that Paltrow wore her own Cathy Waterman wide diamond and sapphire floral openwork bracelet with the Winston jewels. It’s a detail that proves her longstanding love of jewelry, which often sparkles with diamonds, is as much about being a beautiful treasure as it is a personal marker of memories.
