Milanese jewelry house Pomellato is bringing its signature high-octane sparkle to Venice.

The Italian fine jeweler has once again teamed up with Venetian Heritage, the international foundation established to safeguard and promote the artistic legacy of Venice, for the Light and Reflections project, and has crafted a one-of-a-kind dazzling diamond necklace in commemoration.

Pomellato has contributed to the funding of the initiative to bring a new and improved state-of-the-art illumination system to the architectural façade of the historic palazzo, Ca’ d’Oro, which is home to the State Museum Galleria Giorgio Franchetti alla Ca’ d’Oro, owned by the Direzione regionale Musei Veneto, part of the Italian Ministry of Culture. The palace, which dates back to the mid-1400s, grandly sits on Venice’s Grand Canal and is known for its impeccable open-work marble façade that in the past was partially gilded, giving it the moniker “golden house.”

To honor the project, Pomellato has created the Venetian Dream diamond High Jewelry necklace, inspired by the hypnotic play of light that soaks the palace while reflecting on the intricate architecture and quatrefoil openings of the iconic Gothic palazzo.

The rose gold pendant is formed into three geometrical layered shapes, with seven ornate fancy-shaped natural diamonds set in a line to represent the symmetry of the palace and the rippling waters of the Grand Canal. The unique piece is anchored by a linked chain and embellished with a whopping 4,000 hand-set natural diamonds for guaranteed scintillation.

According to Pomellato’s creative director Vincenzo Castaldo, “The Venetian Dream necklace is a composition of mirrored elements. The jewel captures the magical play of light and reflections on the lagoon. The airiness of the design and the unusual setting of the pendant’s diamonds capture Venice’s surreal lighting atmosphere and its almost impossible combination of magnificent architecture floating on water.”

The Light and Reflections project marks Pomellato’s third collaboration with Venetian Heritage, cementing the jeweler’s dedication to conserving Italy’s rich cultural and artistic legacy. Previously, the jeweler worked with the foundation, chaired by Valentina Marini Clarelli Nasi to restore the Epistle Ambo in St Mark’s Basilica in 2022 and the Doge Morosini’s monument in 2020.

“We are committed to preserving and sharing the excellence of Italian craftsmanship, both past and present,” said the CEO of Pomellato Group, Sabina Belli in an official release. “The Ca’ d’Oro is an outstanding example of the wealth of skills that Italy has brought to the world. We are proud to contribute to enhancing its marvelous façade that reflects Venice’s rich and varied visual culture, and the name of Pomellato will be forever linked to the ‘Maison d’or’.”

On Wednesday evening, Pomellato celebrated the new installation with an exclusive gala dinner held at the early Renaissance Palazzo Contarini Polignac. Guests were serenaded by the first violinist of the Milanese Teatro alla Scala, Laura Marzadoni while tasting the gourmet cuisine of Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Alajmo. Before revealing the newly illuminated Ca’ d’Oro façade, attendees got the first glimpse of Pomellato’s Venetian Dream necklace on display along with some of the brand’s most iconic jewelry collections. A glittering evening indeed.
