Because who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle?

As the year comes to an end, we can’t help but reflect on 2022’s most memorable moments in diamonds. Vaults were unlocked, bodyguards were summoned, carats were clasped like armor on the red carpet. Our favorite stars came, and they conquered. The jewels du jour came in all shapes and sizes, from dainty to down-right dramatic, and everything in between.
Scroll down for our list of the most noteworthy looks from the last 365 days, with baubles so good, you’ll want to zoom in.

Zendaya in Bulgari
The Euphoria actress turned heads on the red carpet wearing a diamond link choker with floral pendant by Bulgari and a sweetheart ball gown by Valentino at the Emmy Awards this September. For bonus points she added solitaire earrings and a ribbon headband that did not disappoint.

Simone Ashley in De Beers
Bridgerton’s viscountess made her debut at the Met Gala this May glittering in a white and yellow diamond choker and drop earrings by De Beers. Ashley may be a newbie, but she slayed the scene with a gilded Moschino bustier and slicked-back ponytail.

Alia Bhatt Kapoor in Anjali Bhimrajka Fine Jewels
For Gangubai Kathiawadi promotions at the Berlin Film Festival this April, the leading actress stayed on theme with an ethereal white sari by Rimple and Harpreet Narula and a hairdo of white roses. But it was her drop-dead emerald, sapphire and diamond cluster earrings that were the real winners of the night here.

Timothée Chalamet in Cartier
The edgy American actor elevated his sequined Louis Vuitton suit by going shirtless and using his bare chest to showcase an eye-catching ‘Panthère’ pendant by Cartier (the jeweller’s signature motif) at the Academy Awards this March.

Madhuri Dixit Nene in Mahesh Notandass Fine Jewellery
The Bollywood legend opted for double diamond hoops by Mahesh Notandass Fine Jewellery to complement a feather-trimmed, shimmering Nadine Merabi dress at a screening of The Fame Game this February. Safe to say she brought her A-game.

Taylor Swift in Anita Ko, Djula, Margo, Repossi and Delfina Delettrez
The pop star’s bejewelled skirt by David Koma made headlines at the MTV Europe Music Awards last month. But her diamond jewellery played a supporting role too: ear cuffs by Anita Ko, studs by Djula and Margo, and rings by Repossi and Delfina Delettrez. Now that’s some serious bounty.

Deepika Padukone in Cartier
Padukone painted the town red, literally, in a Louis Vuitton peplum gown with a décolletage dripping in diamonds. Crafted by Cartier for the Cannes Film Festival this May, the elaborate drop necklace was oozing with main character energy.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas in Bulgari
The global icon was a vision in a ruffled monochrome ensemble by Robert Wun. Her partnership with Bulgari ensured that she got first dibs on a diamond and emerald geometric necklace during a sighting in Paris this June.

Lily James in De Beers
The English actress took a ‘less is more’ approach by picking mini hoop earrings and subtle bracelets from De Beers’ Talisman collection at the Emmy Awards this September. The gold trinkets worked in perfect harmony with the hardware of her Atelier Versace metallic mesh dress.

Natasha Poonawalla in personal collection
It’s hard to take your eyes off the philanthropist’s ginormously juicy emerald and diamond cocktail ring. So big that it doesn’t even need a close-up, Poonawalla slipped on the pièce de résistance for a visit at The White House this October. She kept the color palette muted with a monotone Sabyasachi sari and Chanel tweed jacket, so the majestic gem from her personal collection could do all the talking.

Hailey Bieber in Tiffany & Co.
Mrs. Bieber upped the ante with a sexy Saint Laurent number straight from the runway, accessorized with a square-cut encrusted tangerine ornament by Tiffany & Co. while attending the Academy Museum Gala in October.
