With the holidays in full swing, it’s a time for food, family and just a touch of seasonal glamour. And who better to help us celebrate than the Queen of Christmas herself: Mariah Carey. The beloved singer-songwriter, who has racked up nineteen number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, holds the record for the most number-one singles by a solo artist, a female songwriter and a female producer.

At the height of her early popularity in the ‘90s, the songstress released a Christmas album as only her fourth studio collection up to that point. “Merry Christmas” has gone on to sell 15 million copies worldwide and remains the all-time best-selling Christmas album by a woman. Meanwhile, lead single “All I Want for Christmas Is You” became a holiday standard and continues to surge in popularity each holiday season nearly two decades later. To sum it up, you can’t properly enjoy the holidays without Mariah Carey, which made us instantly think of her eye-catching diamond jewelry style.

As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, Carey has made countless appearances at every major Hollywood event, always dressed to the nines in an effort to maintain her status as one of the industry’s leading divas.

The “Oh Santa!” hitmaker has worked with numerous stylists over the years, and most recently with Nicolas Bru, in an effort to ensure she always comes correct on a red carpet. Carey is never one to ‘dress down’ and she always loves to arrive dripping in diamonds, whether it’s to the Academy Awards or to run a quick errand.

“She’s very aware of her body and what looks good on her,” Bru told People magazine in 2018. “She usually has a pretty good hunch as to what’s going to work.” And considering her monumental success, it’s hardly surprising that what usually works is an array of flashy diamonds.

Read on for Mariah Carey’s most exceptional diamond looks so far.

Mariah Carey’s collaboration with legendary Maison, Chopard is worthy of music royalty, manifesting in an extraordinary high jewelry collection.

The story starts at Christmas in 2020, as Ms. Carey was set to celebrate the diamond disc of her holiday anthem, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and received the book presenting Chopard’s famed Red Carpet Collection. The coincidence and inspiration were too strong for her to resist a conversation with her longtime friend, Chopard Co-President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele who turned the Fantasy into a diamond reality.

The butterfly is a symbol shared by both the icon and the iconic brand. The collection features a monumental butterfly-shaped diamond collar and asymmetrical earrings, each ear taking a wing in fair-mined gold and natural diamonds. The larger earring features a cascade of round and heart-shaped diamonds hearkening back to the rainbow emblazoned on another hit album by Ms. Carey.

“It’s finally here! Mariah Carey x Chopard! Working with Caroline Scheufele and Chopard on the Happy Butterfly collection has been an incredible journey! I’m so grateful for their boundless creativity, unparalleled craftsmanship, and commitment to producing fine jewelry with ethical integrity.”

Carey prides herself on being slightly extra at all times, and that couldn’t be more apparent than during her appearance at the 2019 amfAR Cannes Gala. She took the stage at the event in a black, sparkly gown featuring a plunging neckline, leaving more than enough space for a splattering of decadent ice. The star was smothered in diamonds from Chopard, all taken from the Swiss luxury jewelry house’s Garden of Kalahari Collection.

According to Chopard, Carey’s earrings featured a 25-carat pear-shaped diamond as well as a 26-carat heart-shaped diamond, while her ring was set with a 20-carat cushion-cut diamond. The most stunning piece of all, however, was the singer’s white gold, 50-carat necklace.

At the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards in 2018, all the celebrity attendees wore black in solidarity with the #TimesUp initiative to protest gender inequality, power abuse and harassment. As a result, the stars had to get creative in order to stand out on the jam-packed red carpet. Carey looked like a glimmering goddess in a form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana gown, complete with a ruched mermaid style that perfectly hugged her curves.

To add some bling to the dark look, she had a huge pair of dangling statement pendant earrings peeking out from behind her signature golden locks. She paired the pieces with an assortment of shining bracelets and rings, a mix of items from Chopard and her own enviable personal collection.

In 2017, Carey lent her talents to the animated film The Star, writing an original song for the family flick, which received a nomination for Best Original Song at the 75th Golden Globe Awards the following year. The vocal powerhouse promoted the movie, looking decked out like the shining Times Square ball on New Year’s Eve. She stunned in a pair of Harry Kotlar drop diamond earrings that were so show-stopping, she had to pull her hair out of the way to show them off. The dazzling pieces were complemented by Hearts On Fire diamond bangles, including their Illa Constellation bracelet, which is valued at $400,000.

It’s no easy feat to impress a diva who has it all, but Carey was certainly swept off her feet in 2016 when she was briefly engaged to billionaire James Packer. The Australian businessman  presented her with an incredible 35-carat ring when he proposed, featuring an emerald-cut center stone with single-carat baguettes on either side. It was designed by Carey’s friend of more than 25 years, Wilfredo Rosado, and took two weeks to create.

She made her red carpet debut with the blinding piece, worth an estimated $10 million, at the G’Day USA 2016 Black Tie Gala a week later and it was impossible to take your eyes off her glistening finger. Sadly, the relationship fizzled later that year despite the valuable bauble. It was reported Carey sold the ring for a rumored $2.1 million to a Los Angeles jeweler, making it known even the biggest diamond is replaceable for Mariah Carey.
