Throughout her Cowboy Carter tour, Beyoncé has added her signature glamorous touch to the diamond bolo tie. Since releasing her landmark country crossover album, Act II: Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé has adopted western jewelry trends, adding more natural diamonds than you could ever imagine.

Belting out beloved fan-favorite hits and new chart-topping tracks, Beyoncé has been decked out in bedazzled cowboy hats, diamond horseshoe earrings, glistening Southern belt buckles, and layers of diamond bolo ties and lariats that shine bright against her hoedown-ready fashions from the industry’s top designers.

From De Beers to Lorraine Schwartz, Brilliant Earth, and Messika High Jewelry, Beyoncé has given the diamond bolo tie her own space cowboy spin throughout the tour. They’ve made it down the runways of Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Martine Rose rodeo-themed runways.

Jewelry designers like Nikos Koulis, David Yurman, and John Hardy have leaned into the cowboy craze with lariat-style bolos, enhanced with the most enchanting natural diamonds. The trend has even made its way to Place Vendôme with the newest and most spectacular high jewelry at Couture Week 2025, with houses like Pomellato and Repossi crafting their own masterful iterations.

Foraying into country music, Texas-born Beyoncé released her eighth studio album, Act II: Cowboy Carter, on March 29, 2024. The most decorated Grammy winner of all time, Beyoncé’s country album added a few more notches to her belt, winning the coveted  Album of the Year Award, Best Country Album, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance at this year’s ceremony

After kicking off her Cowboy Carter Tour in April at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, she’s set to conclude the whirlwind international tour at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, July 26.

As Beyoncé’s ultra-glam Cowboy Carter tour comes to a close, Only Natural Diamonds is looking back on her most dazzling diamond bolo tie moments, leaning into western jewelry trends.

Milan-based jewelry house Pomellato has released its latest high jewelry collection, including dynamic and dramatic diamond iterations of the classic bolo. Featuring segments from the 90s “Chromatic Vision” through the “Chain Revolution” of the 1970s, we find our lariat jewels in the 1980s assortment, dubbed “Breaking the Rules of Design.” The Collezione 1967 Link Necktie necklace and the Milanese Necktie necklace see dangling chains of dazzling diamonds that reach all the way to the sternum for the biggest impact.

Pomellato Creative Director Vincenzo Castaldo tells Only Natural Diamonds, “Versatility and personalization in the way jewels are worn are for sure the key to success for this style of jewelry. These are traits that Pomellato has emphasized over the years across many collections, allowing for a truly contemporary style to emerge.”

Explaining the creative process behind the necktie necklaces, Castaldo says, “We introduced the rope chain design in previous High Jewelry collections. In Pomellato 1967, we wanted to explore even further the potential of this specific type of chain. The bolo tie necklace and lariat styles were the ideal stage to enhance the unique character of these necklaces, combining the strength of the chain with the fluidity and sensuality of its movement.”

He continues, “The Link Necktie – in true Pomellato style – transforms a functional element like the toggle into an aesthetic point of attraction with diamonds and jet accents. The Milanese Necktie combines a sinuous design with precious pavé settings and embodies the Pomellato understated elegance.” Stuck on a chic way to style your own diamond bolo tie? The creative director pictures them “on naked skin with a smoking tuxedo.”

Gaia Repossi presented her largest assortment with the Blast High Jewelry collection in the gardens of the Musée du Quai Branley beneath the Eiffel Tower during Couture Week 2025. The designs are based upon heritage designs, but the bolo tie has never been more timely.

Based on a heritage motif of the golden thread, the Blast Coulisso long pendant features five pear-shaped diamonds for a total of 1.24 carats. The delicate silhouette of the Coulisso includes an adjustable chain length, thanks to a sliding central pendant that makes it as versatile as can be.  The Repossi Design Studio tells Only Natural Diamonds, “Bolo ties have experienced waves of popularity, and they’re especially trendy in High Jewelry right now. Introducing this incredibly versatile piece to our new Blast collection provides a fantastic opportunity to explore gold and our craftmanship in innovative ways and add a truly unique design to this High Jewelry collection.”

Bolo ties have experienced waves of popularity, and they’re especially trendy in High JEWELRY right now.

According to the Studio, “The Blast collection celebrates primitive arts, taking inspiration from the traditional jewelry of ancestral cultures such as the Masai, Miao, and peoples of the Indonesian archipelago.” They continue, “Their majestic structures with spiraled lines and bold volumes have inspired the collection, which reinvents the concept of an endless gold thread to express absolute fullness. The collection also incorporates the Japanese philosophy of Enso, a circle of light symbolizing harmony and eternity, to create a timeless vision of beauty, deeply rooted in our collective memory.”

When it comes to gemstones, natural diamonds provide a magic like no other, bringing the bolo tie to new heights of luxury. “Each natural diamond is unique, possessing its own distinct characteristics in terms of size, shape, color, and inclusions making natural diamonds the perfect centerpiece for timeless jewelry creations. The allure of natural diamonds lies in their combination of rarity and natural beauty, ultimately meeting the exigent standards of Place Vendôme jewelers.”
