M-Screen Ultra

M-Screen Ultra

M-Screen Ultra is a desktop fully automated diamond verification instrument designed to screen large quantities of colourless and near colourless loose stones at a high speed. M-Screen Ultra automatically separates diamonds from synthetic diamonds and diamond simulants.

Stone Testing Capability

Weight: 0.004 ct to 0.18 ct
Size: 1.0 mm to 3.6 mm
Colour: D-J
Shape: Round
Diamond Simulants: Yes
Mounted Stones: No

Instrument Performance

Key performance metrics measured for the M-Screen Ultra with the ASSURE 2.0 Primary Sample:

Diamond False Positive Rate (optimal rate 0%): 0%
Diamond Referral Rate (optimal rate 0%): 1.7%
Diamond Accuracy Rate (optimal rate 100%): 98.3%

The Primary Sample is tested three times and consists of 350 loose diamonds, 100 loose synthetic diamonds and 50 loose diamond simulants. The stones are 0.02ct to 0.20ct in D-J colour.

Key performance metrics measured for the M-Screen Ultra with the ASSURE 2.0 Smalls Sample:

Diamond False Positive Rate (optimal rate 0%): 0%
Diamond Referral Rate (optimal rate 0%): 1.7%
Diamond Accuracy Rate (optimal rate 100%): 98.3%

The Smalls Sample is tested three times and consists of 350 loose diamonds, 100 loose synthetic diamonds and 50 loose diamond simulants. The stones are 0.005 ct to 0.02 ct in D-J colour.

The M-Screen Ultra is a fully automated instrument and has a measured operating speed of 13,700 stones per hour.

Instrument Capabilities

Automated Feed: Yes
Automated Results: Yes
Automated Dispense: Yes
Detect or Refer (Synthetic Diamonds): Refer
Detect or Refer (Diamond Simulants): Refer
Multiple Stones at Once: Yes
Training Required: No

M-Screen Ultra dispenses the stones into four bins with the following categories:

  1. Pass
  2. Refer
  3. Out of spec/Simulant
  4. Not on table

The ‘Pass’ bin collects 100% natural diamonds.

The ‘Refer’ bin collects synthetic diamonds and may include natural diamonds. These should be further tested for full verification.

‘Out of spec’ collects all diamond simulants or diamonds that fall outside of the specification (eg. M colour).

‘Not on table’ is used to collect stones following a purge of the instrument, or stones that are not properly positioned during testing. These stones need to be screened again.

During ASSURE 2.0 testing, all synthetic diamonds in the sample sets reported to ‘Refer’ and all diamond simulants reported to ‘Out of spec’.
