Raise a Glass with Cartier’s High Jewellery Cocktail Rings
Cartier the illustrious Maison renowned for its artistry in the world of haute joaillerie, presents their latest High Jewellery creations, Le Voyage Recommencé, Chapter II (which loosely translates to “the trip starts again”). To help celebrate, Only Natural Diamonds had the ultimate privilege of introducing two of these creations, charismatic High Jewellery cocktail rings, to the bright lights of New York City. As fate would have it, what better playground for a pair of vivacious cocktail rings than the bustling White Oak Tavern? These rings were ready to paint the town red, or perhaps we should say, bedazzle it in diamonds!
Before we introduce our two guests, it’s important to note that this captivating collection’s first chapter debuted earlier this year in the picturesque garden of the Palazzo Corsini, nestled in the heart of Florence. This splendid palace, adorned with masterpieces from Italian luminaries like Fra Angelico and Caravaggio, provided a fitting stage for a spectacular revelation of the 90-piece high jewellery collection. It wasn’t an ordinary unveiling but a grand Italian garden soirée. An assembly of A-list luminaries and Cartier’s esteemed house ambassadors graced the event. Stars like Labrinth, Vanessa Kirby, Elle Fanning, Riley Keough, Adrien Brody, and Pom Klementieff brought their radiance to this extraordinary evening. That said, our night out with two guests from Chapter II had much to live up to.
Our first guest, the Le Voyage Recommencé High Jewellery Ring, features 18K white gold with black lacquer and natural diamonds. This ring adorns cascading levels with colourless natural diamonds, and black lacquer edges accentuate them. The final two levels converge in the middle, each showcasing a sizable and distinctive trapezoid-shaped diamond. The space between these levels creates an illusion that almost metamorphoses the ring’s appearance, depending on the angle you view it from, revealing a diamond-covered surface within.
Our second guest is the Le Voyage Recommencé High Jewellery Ring set in 18K white and yellow gold with natural yellow and colourless diamonds. The alternating yellow, white, and yellow pattern of the 18K gold band continues with its alternating natural diamond colours. The pièce de résistance is the two super elongated emerald cut diamonds set angled away from each other at its center: one colourless and one naturally yellow. The colourless diamond is flanked top and bottom by six square emerald-cut natural yellow diamonds. In contrast, the large yellow diamond is flanked by six colourless diamonds, thus completing its alternating colour design.
All the designs in ‘Le Voyage Recommence’ are a bold testament to Cartier’s legacy, a masterful blend of the brand’s iconic heritage with innovative reinterpretations and architectural inspirations. The pieces within this collection are not mere adornments; they are artistic expressions, resonating with the heart and soul of Cartier’s unique identity.
Our two guests openly expressed their cocktail preferences. The white and black cascading sophisticate insisted on a classic gin martini garnished with not one but three olives, making a specific point about it. Conversely, our white and yellow companion favoured the tangy experience of a lemon drop. These high jewellery cocktail rings exude the charm and excitement akin to a well-crafted libation. Like a master mixologist who adeptly balances ingredients to craft the perfect cocktail, Cartier skillfully blends the finest natural diamonds and precious materials to create these captivating works of wearable art.
As the night unfolded in the Tavern adjacent to Washington Square Park, our two charismatic guests from Chapter II of ‘Le Voyage Recommencé’ by Cartier truly shone amidst the city lights. Our attempt to live up to the grandeur of the Florence event was ambitious, but as the evening played out, it became clear that these rings carry their celestial glow wherever they roam. Cocktails were enjoyed, cocktails were spilled, and friends were made. It was a night to remember, where the worlds of high jewellery and haute cocktails intersected, and the guests of honour sparkled as brightly as the city that never sleeps. It turns out these rings are the true stars of any show, captivating eyes and lighting up nights, no matter where they make their entrance.
