With the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards coming up this Sunday on January 19, 2020, we’re shining a light on the most scintillating part of the star-studded evening—when diamond jewelry graces the red carpet. After all, jewelry is often the most eye-catching aspect of any celebrity’s outfit and helps tell a very specific story. And this storytelling is heightened on the night of the SAG Awards when performers don creative jewels that are absolutely stunning.

Since their debut in 1995, the SAG Awards have distinguished themselves as a night to celebrate authenticity and rarity. And celebrities have called upon natural diamonds to help convey that story for one of Hollywood’s most glamorous nights. From the elaborate, diamond encrusted Harry Winston Waterfall necklace worn by Jessica Chastain during the 2013 awards to the iconic diamond-laden ribbon earrings worn by Rachel Brosnahan in 2019, there are so many breathtaking pieces to remember.

In anticipation of Sunday night, let’s look back on the exciting SAG Awards diamond moments of years passed:

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie attended the 24th annual SAG Awards in 2018 as a best actress nominee for her starring role in, “I, Tonya.” Robbie debuted stunning cluster earrings from Tiffany & Co. valued at $115,000. The star also wore a classic Tiffany & Co. diamond bracelet, which paired beautifully alongside another bracelet of pearls. Even better—Robbie’s gown itself was embellished with a dazzling array of diamonds and pearls.

Kerry Washington

At the 20th annual SAG Awards in 2014, Kerry Washington opted for a sleek updo in order to display her extraordinary Harry Winston cluster earrings. These earrings feature six pear-shaped and four marquise-cut diamonds, which amass to a 4.59 carat weight. They are set in minimal platinum to highlight the natural stones clustered at varying angles—all of which juxtapose the cut of each diamond and offer the maximum amount of light-catching sparkle.

Rachel Brosnahan

Some earrings are gorgeous, but these can only be described as iconic. They are perfectly fitting for Rachel Brosnahan, who was nominated for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” at the SAG Awards in 2019. This show certainly calls for its star to fully embody its delightful title—and Brosnahan was up to the task with these stunning earrings. Brosnahan opted for long, diamond encrusted ribbon earrings created by Los Angeles-based designer Irene Neuwirth. The glistening beauties are set in 18-carat white gold, and absolutely stood out as the star of Brosnahan’s ensemble.

Ellie Kemper

In 2017, Ellie Kemper arrived at the 23rd annual SAG Awards wearing Forevermark earrings that made a major statement. The earrings were 18.61 carats in total, but the true stars of the show were the 9-carat diamonds dangling from the bottom of each gorgeous earring. The stones were set in platinum and valued at $1.2 million.

Reese Witherspoon

At the 21st annual SAG Awards in 2015, Reese Witherspoon wore a sleek, simple gown and hairstyle, so that she could show off these statement-making earrings. They featured 9.2 carats in total, and beautifully reflected light thanks to a perfect emerald cut. Designed by Harry Winston, it was her earrings’ not-so-subtle glam that tied together her entire ensemble.

Sofía Vergara

At the 22nd annual SAG Awards in 2016, Sofía Vergara paired her bright pink gown with David Webb’s incredible Double Scroll Necklace, valued at $185,000. The opulent statement piece consists of brilliant-cut diamonds set in 18 carats of gold and platinum. The set came complete with matching earrings and a stunning ring—all of which would have been eye-catching on their own, but were completely mesmerizing when worn together.

Zoë Saldana

Zoë Saldana’s gown at the 18th annual SAG Awards in 2012 featured a stunning embellished collar, which she chose to accentuate with the most beautiful, delicate Tiffany & Co. Novo diamond drop earrings. Each earring displayed a 5.05-carat diamond set in platinum. The opulent stones were round and carved into a brilliant cut—making them incredibly sparkly. They perfectly framed her face and enhanced the look of her already dazzling gown.

Jessica Chastain

The 19th annual SAG Awards in 2013 brought with them tons of elegant looks, but none were more impressive than Jessica Chastain’s bold red gown and Harry Winston choker. The necklace features round and pear-shaped diamonds in a brilliant cut. While the piece perfectly follows her neckline, the cascading flow of diamonds at the center is intended to emulate the fluidity of water.

Kate Hudson

While this look may be from the 16th annual SAG Awards in 2010, the Cartier jewels are truly timeless. Kate Hudson opted to wear the long Sautoir Spotlight necklace down her back for a dramatic, sensual look. The necklace features a cluster of cascading diamond tassels that are absolutely divine and beautifully complement the earrings. Hudson also wore diamond chandelier earrings that added a touch of glamour to her crisp white boatneck gown.
