It’s that time of the year when the world’s greatest cinema event takes center stage. And right there, alongside many actors, directors, and film professionals, stands Chopard, the official partner to the Cannes Festival since 1998. This collaboration has become a tradition, and the 76th edition of the festival is no exception. Chopard’s deep love for cinema is further evident in its latest campaign featuring its Global Ambassador, Julia Roberts. Inspired by a backstage look at a film shoot, the campaign captures the essence of Chopard’s commitment to the art of cinema.

This year, creative force and co-president behind Chopard, Caroline Scheufele, has chosen ‘Art’ as the theme of the new Red Carpet Collection and the Maison’s glamorous grande soirée. The celebration of art in all its forms, including architecture, sculpture, painting, music, literature, dance, and cinema, will be at the heart of Chopard’s activities throughout the festival.

Year after year, Chopard rises to the challenge of creating a Haute Joaillerie collection that perfectly aligns with the prestigious Cannes Film Festival as well as the number of pieces that matches the number of the latest edition of the festival. It’s no small feat, but Chopard masters it with their unique artistry. Each piece in the Red Carpet Collection showcases the talent and expertise of the Maison’s artisans. They push boundaries, exploring new frontiers of innovation under the visionary guidance of Caroline Scheufele. From groundbreaking materials to cutting-edge stone-cutting techniques, these gifted artisans breathe life into their creations. It’s a true testament to the essence of traditional jewelry-making craftsmanship and an avant-garde spirit that resonates with the artistic world. Each piece is carefully selected and chosen by the actors and actresses in attendance, adding the ultimate glamor that the festival is known for.

Caroline Scheufele’s travels serve as a wellspring of inspiration, fueling her creative vision. Every aspect of the world, from architecture and literature to music, cinema, and more, becomes a catalyst for magnificent jewelry designs. Chopard reveres nature, working exclusively with the most exceptional natural gems forged by the Earth over time. The Maison’s expertise and selective approach to precious natural stones ensure that only the most extraordinary gems, with their captivating color, and unmistakable aura, inspire their remarkable creations.

Crafted with the same expertise as the Palme d’Or, the Red Carpet Collection, designed by Scheufele, comprises 76 Haute Joaillerie masterpieces that will grace the traditional staircase ritual. These creations, including watches and natural diamond jewelry, will adorn the actresses and actors as they make their appearances on the red carpet to promote their films. The Chopard Rooftop at the Martinez Hotel, where the Maison takes up residence during the festival, promises to be a buzzing scene once again, creating an atmosphere of glamor and excitement.

As part of the collaboration, Chopard also has the honor of crafting all the trophies awarded by the Festival jury at the end of the competition, including the Palme d’Or. The Maison also takes the opportunity to honor the promising careers of young actors through the Trophée Chopard. On May 19th, during the Trophée Chopard ceremony, two talented and promising artists will be awarded their distinctions by a prestigious godmother appointed by Caroline Scheufele. The Trophée Chopard, inaugurated in 2001, has become an integral part of the official Cannes Festival calendar. Previous winners, Sheila Atim and Jack Lowden, proudly carry the legacy of this distinction presented by the 2022 godmother, Julia Roberts. This year, the Trophée Chopard will have Oscar winner Natalie Portman as its godmother. What makes this even more special is Chopard’s dedication to sustainable luxury and its use of Fairmined-certified ethical gold and responsibly sourced natural diamonds. Chopard ensures that the Palme d’Or is a symbol of responsible luxury.
