The 10 Best Natural Diamond Jewels Adele Wore During Her Weekends in Vegas

A diamond devotee, the singer performed in a variety of styles during her residency

From the moment Adele began her Las Vegas residency last November at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace, she impressed music critics and delighted the crowds. Her performances over the last four months continued to make news as Adele awed her audience with her roster of hits as well as frank and funny thoughts on a range of topics which were freely recorded and posted to social media for us all to see.

Perhaps the most widespread moment was when her gestures during the Super Bowl became a hilarious viral meme. She addressed it. The Vegas stage also gave her a chance to squash rumors like one going around that claimed she was skipping the Grammys.

Another big reason “Weekends With Adele” remained in the news is because The British Queen of Soul changed her performance ensemble every weekend. Each one consisted of a black gown and diamond jewellery. While the combination might sound repetitive, it wasn’t at all.

Adele and her stylist, Jamie Mizrahi, showed just how versatile and imaginative diamonds against a black gown can be. It’s also worth noting Adele changed her hair and makeup to match each mood. But it was the jewellery (no surprise) that popped up on my Instagram feed and the names ranged from Lorraine Schwartz, one of the singer’s favorite designers, to amazing labels she had never worn before like David Webb.

On several occasions Adele chose to wear jewels from Lorraine Schwartz who is clearly one of the singer’s favorite designers. “We love working with Adele,” explains Lorraine. “She is great and funny and knows what she likes and what she doesn’t.” Other amazing labels Adele’s array of looks included David Webb who she had never worn before and Anita Ko.

I narrowed down the parade of styles to the ten best natural diamond moments. Find out the details below.

Oh, and if you missed Adele in Vegas like I did, we are all going to have more chances to see her. She announced during her final scheduled performance last Saturday, she will be back in June for a series of dates that will be transformed into a concert film. She will also add another slate of dates in the fall. In the spirit of Vegas, I bet she will be wearing diamonds at every single one of the shows.

Adele opened her residency with a stylish bang. She performed in a custom-made silk and velvet Schiaparelli Haute Couture floor-length gown with a bateau neckline and a gold-tone and crystal decorative buckle at the waist. The circular shape of the buckle was echoed in her front-facing gold and diamond hoops by Lorraine Schwartz.

Lorraine has long been a go-to jewellery designer for Adele who has worn her work on countless occasions as well as in her video “I Drink Wine.” The earrings for the curtain raiser were triple front-facing gold hoops set with various shapes of diamonds totaling 9.32-carats. To make the moment extra special the singer also sported one of Lorraine’s epic diamond rings. The two pear-shape diamonds in the design total over 25-carats.

Adele doubled down on the diamond dazzle from Lorraine Schwartz during her second weekend in Vegas. The singer sported ginormous diamond and jade pear-shape pendant drop earrings. She also had on a huge diamond ring.

The diamonds echoed the crystal halter strap detail on her custom-made Givenchy floor-length gown. All of Adele’s gowns swept down to the floor to practically cover her almost bare feet. She never wore shoes during her performance. Instead, she would put on black grippy socks so she could walk around comfortably on stage and when she ventured out into the crowd.

For several of Adele’s ensembles Jamie Mizrahi sourced natural diamond earrings that shared a pretty specific design element with the custom-made clothes.

During weekend 5 when Adele wore an off-the-shoulder Nina Ricci gown with billowing sheer sleeves punctuated by sparkling black polka dots she had on Yessayan diamond earrings. The pear-shaped diamonds accenting the openwork hoops reflected the polka-dots on her gown.

The connections between Adele’s custom couture and her diamond jewels can look subtle in some pictures, but when you see images of them projected on the mega big screens in The Colosseum they are as clear as can be.

During weekend 6 right before Christmas, the singer wore a custom black velvet Oscar de la Renta gown with a gold appliqué featuring rosettes. The gold was cleverly repeated in her almost 12-carat diamond David Webb Double Hoop Earrings.

Adele is fearless about performing in oversized diamond jewellery as she proved throughout her Vegas residency, but none were quite as big as the Lorraine Schwartz diamond hoops she wore during weekend 9 which grazed her shoulders. The jewels were composed of elongated cushion cuts, radiants, and pear shape diamonds totaling almost 90 carats.

Adele’s interest in earrings with a strong silhouette came shining through in the jewels she chose from Briony Raymond’s estate collection. The coil style earrings set with 6-carats of diamonds aligned with the curls in her hair during weekend 12.

She wore the earrings with a custom David Koma cady black gown with a sweetheart neckline, two crystal embroidered roses on the bodice and three-quarter length sleeve.

The Paco Rabanne gown Adele performed in during weekend 13 had long spangles on the skirt. The idea of movement also appeared in her diamond earrings. While the almost 11-carat diamond Spirale Earrings from Reza look like they might jiggle, they are solid.

“These earrings are in the form of a curve, but instead of being perfectly symmetrical, they take a unique form—almost like smoke disappearing into the air,” explains Olivier Reza.

Adele kept her hair and diamond jewellery relatively simple for weekend 14 so they didn’t compete with her Jenny Packham off-the shoulder black gown embroidered in gold.

The large baguette diamond Anita Ko hoops she wore paired perfectly with her tidy topknot. The earrings are set with just under 10-carats of diamonds.

For weekend 15, Adele put on a look that would have worked in old Las Vegas if she was singing alongside Frank Sinatra. It included a heavily beaded raven Zuhair Murad Couture lace long sleeve off-the-shoulder gown with a scallop trim neckline, corset bodice and fishtail train.

She paired the ornate dress with Zydo Italy marquise shape diamond pendant earrings that had a mid-20th century classic jewellery spirit.

If you didn’t get the sense by now that Adele and her stylist Jamie Mizrahi were “rolling in the deep” with their ability to pick the perfect pair of natural diamond earrings for a gown, let me draw your attention to the bell-shaped sleeve of the custom Versace she wore during week 16 and the silhouette of the Anita Ko diamond earrings.

There is just over 6-carats of diamonds in the earrings. The angles of the pear shapes in the open pear-shape silhouette give the design a sense of movement. In other words, they dance with the music.
